I. Descendants of Joseph Wolfe and Elma Zimmerman Wolfe

A. Paul Cecil Zimmerman Wolfe (1927-2009) married Elanor Warnick (1928-2002). Named for his mother, Elma Pauline Zimmerman Wolfe. WWII Naval Veteran, USS Cabot (CVL-28) in the Pacific. Recipient of the Purple Heart, wounded in Kamikaze attack on the Cabot. His ship was hit by a Kamikaze attack at Samar off the Philippines on November 25, 1944. Two suicide planes hit the ship, and 36 men were killed. He was thrown a large portion of the ship's length by the subsequent explosion. In May, 2002 he told his nephew, John P. "Buck" Walker, that he was on the bridge at the time of the attack. Two planes flew into the ship one behind the other. He was Quartermaster onboard the Cabot. He was regular Navy, a volunteer, and so was in charge of a group of 4 draftees when he reported aboard the Cabot. Lived in Livonia, Michigan.

Two years after Harold’s death, in 1970, Helen Wolfe Walker married William Lee Newman. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, from June to November, 1970, and then on to a farm between Bee Branch and Damascus, Van Buren County, Arkansas, where they remain. Harold’s oldest son, John "Buck" Walker settled there as well and remains there. Lives on a farm between Bee Branch and Damascus, Van Buren County, Arkansas.

E. William Franklin ("Frank") Wolfe (b. 1936) married Mary Niland (d. 2006?) in 1968. Named for his grandfathers, Marquard William Wolfe and Samuel Franklin Zimmerman. Air Force veteran. Owns Joe and Elma Wolfe's old house, Wiley Ford, Mineral County, WV.

13. Theresa Marie Wolfe (1969-1994) married John Litchfield (b. 19__) in 1992. She was completing her Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of South Carolina when she was killed in airline crash, returning home on the same day as the death of Elma Pauline Zimmerman Wolfe (1908-1994).
